The beautiful vintage rug is made in the region of Ait Bou Ichaouan, a nomadic Berber tribe in Morocco. The rugs from this remote area were only discovered in the late 1990s. The technique and use of striking exotic colors and patterns are really different from other rugs in Morocco. The designs reflect an older North African weaving tradition that is now almost completely lost.
