Product description
What an eye-catcher! A large Berber Boujad rug with a base of warm orange, beige, terracotta. The rug has a beautiful pattern with color accents of blue, indigo and turquoise. Most vintage Moroccan rugs were made most of the time no wider than 180/190 cm.This rug is 212 cm wide, which is great if you have a larger space.
Boujad rugs are made by women from the Middle Atlas Mountains.Boujad is a city in Morocco on the edge of the Atlas Mountains.Boujad is an important market center for weaving products in the area from Ez-Zhiliga in the south to Beni Mallal, which are generally referred to as Boujads. However, they are by no means all the same as the weaving tribes are not part of a single confederation and are spread over a relatively large area.
- Size: 375 x 212 cm
- Material: wool
- Because the rug is vintage and handknotted it can have some imperfections. We think this gives the rug her beautiful character.
